At The Minster Junior School, Design and technology is an inspiring and practical subject.
Using creativity and imagination, pupils design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts, considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values.
All children complete a design and make task and are involved in D.T. Day, where they are given the opportunity to express themselves by producing quality work that can be displayed. This also allows additional opportunities for assessment and curriculum coverage within the subject.
Students also acquire a broad range of subject knowledge and draw on disciplines such as mathematics, science, engineering, computing and art.
At The Minster Junior School, it is our aim to increase the child’s awareness and understanding of D.T. and its significance in society and their surrounding environment.
We also aim to give pupils a sense of enjoyment and pride in their ability to design, plan, make, stay safe and be healthy.
